Galapagos Aggressor III
Eight staterooms, a photo and video centre, a hot tub on the sun deck, and a bar that is inside the fare — wine with dinner included. Sixteen divers, seven crew.
The bar is included
Beer, spirits and wine with dinner sit inside the fare. Almost nobody else in the fleet does that.
Photo centre
A dedicated photo and video centre, camera table and a wetsuit drying area on the dive deck.
Two guides
Two dive guides plus a dive master for sixteen divers, on a boat built for nothing else.
An old hull that knows the job
The Aggressor III has been diving the Galapagos since 1993, and the fleet she belongs to has been running liveaboards since long before that. Thirty metres, sixteen divers, eight staterooms. What you get for the age of the hull is a boat where everything has a place: personal gear storage, fresh water showers, a camera table, and a drying area for wetsuits that actually dries them.
The crew is a captain, an engineer, a dive master, two dive guides, a chef and a steward. Between dives there is a salon, a photo and video centre, a bar, a sun deck with a hot tub, a barbecue and kayaks. The unusual part is the fare: alcohol, wine with dinner, transfers and VAT are all inside it, which is rare enough in the Galapagos to change how the numbers compare.
At a glance
The week, by depth
Darwin
The reason the boat sails this far north. Hammerheads school along the wall, and whale sharks pass through in season, roughly June to November. You hook in, stay low, and let the traffic come to you.
Wolf
Cleaning stations, walls and constant movement: hammerheads, Galapagos sharks, silkies, whitetips on the reef, and schools of jacks dense enough to dim the light.
The sites on the way
Check dives in the central islands at the start, and the cold western sites off Isabela and Fernandina on the way back: marine iguanas grazing on the bottom, mola mola, turtles and sea lions.
Sites are decided on the day by the crew, around sea conditions and park scheduling. Nothing in the water is guaranteed — these animals show up often enough to plan a week around, not often enough to promise. Ask us for the current itinerary and departure dates.

Where you sleep
Eight staterooms for sixteen divers, with towels and toiletries provided. Built around the diving rather than around the photos: somewhere to warm up, dry off and sleep between four dives a day, with storage for a camera rig that stays assembled.
Meals on board
A chef on board, full board with snacks between dives, and a barbecue on the sun deck when the evening allows it. The bar is included: beer, spirits, wine with dinner, plus soft drinks, coffee and tea. On most Galapagos dive boats that is a separate bill at the end of the week, so it is worth putting in the comparison. Tell us about dietary needs when you book.
Is this your boat?
Book it if
- Wolf and Darwin are the reason for the trip
- You shoot underwater and want a proper photo centre
- You would rather have the drinks inside the fare than itemised
- You are comfortable in strong current and cold water
Choose another cruise if
- You are new to diving or coming back after a long break
- Part of your group does not dive
- A 1993 hull is a dealbreaker — newer boats exist in the fleet
- You want landings and snorkeling at the centre of the week
Want a newer boat? Compare the Galaxy Diver II, renovated in 2023, or the Tiburon Explorer. Prefer landings and snorkeling over tanks? We arrange naturalist cruises across the archipelago.
